Coláiste Mhuire Debating and Public Speaking competed in Patrician Academy on Wednesday 6th of December. Topics were related to water conservation across the world. Congratulations to Freya O’Riordan who came 1st and Olivia Requejo who came 3rd. Well done to all involved. 🟡🔵👏👏

Big effort from all our U16 team yesterday against David College Mallow in Mitchelstown. They brought the game from 5-2 down with 14 minutes to go, to a draw after injury time.

Well done to our U19 soccer team on a thrilling 3-2 victory over Charleville CBS today in a highly competitive game in Munster Challenge Cup. The goals came from Billy O’Riordan, with an outstanding strike for his second, and Cormac Fitzgerald with an extra time winner.

Our senior students on their french film trip to the Gate Cinema, Mallow on Monday. As part of their french language studies they got to see a brilliant film called 'Seize Ans', run by Cork International Film Festival! @corkfilmfest @gatecinemas

The Senior debate team took on Loreto Kilkenny on Monday. The motion was "African nations must be allowed to develop fossil fuel resources to help lift their people out of poverty". This was the 2nd round of the Concern Debating competition.

Last week our school participated in Stand Up week and great fun was had by all. We had a few of our students involved in the Ally Group working hard to ensure we made the most of the week.

We paid a visit to Mallow library recently and spoke to Diane Lee, one of the librarians, about the work she does and we learned about how important the library is to the community. We visited their newly refurbished sensory room and listened to some of their speakers who come every week to give talks.

Before midterm we had a visit from guest speaker , Dr. Claire Heffernan, Senior Solid State Crystallisation Scientist with Astra Zeneca, who spoke to senior students about "science in industry and career options in science".

Huge congrats to four of our finest who recieved Pope John Paul II Awards on October 19th. Sarah Salvin and Isi Nnaemke both recieved Papal Awards, and Saidhbh Keating and Aisling Foley recieved Gold Awards.
