Our TY finished up for the Christmas break with a Tea Party. After a busy morning of exams and a busy term of activities, workshops, competitions, trips and much much more it was great to sit back and enjoy a cuppa with some goodies and sing along to some Christmas songs. Have a great Christmas everyone. 🍋

To celebrate the end of their first term in the Coláiste our 1st years enjoyed an afternoon of bingo with their TY buddies.

TYs enjoyed a very educational and fun Forensic Science Workshop.

TY Mini-Company students attended a Trade Fair in the Marina Market in Cork today hosted by Foróige. A very enjoyable day was had by all 👏🏻.

The annual Christmas SVP Food Appeal is in full swing in the Coláiste, but the closing date of December 7th is fast approaching!

Today our TYs held a mock trial based on a true crime story.

TY Mini-Company classes hosted a Christmas Trade Fair today. There was a great buzz around the Coláiste. Everyone was getting into the Christmas spirit 🎅

Thanks to Robbie from The Bodhrán Buzz who taught TY’s and music students a variety rhythms on the bodhrán. It was an excellent, fun filled workshop, with demonstrations, games and performance. Have a listen to some of the pieces performed throughout the day.

TY Mini-Company had a workshop with Garry from the North Cork Student Enterprise Awards today. TY's are busy getting ready for competitions and are heading to the Marina Market Gift and Design day in the coming weeks.

Congratulations to Chloe who won a nationwide TY campaign to promote DLD (developmental language disorder) by creating a slideshow that will be used to educate students about DLD during the 2024 awareness campaign. Well done Chloe.

Huge congrats to our TY students Becky, Emma and Kelly who have advanced to the next stage of the Certified Irish Angus Beef Schools Competition.

We had the time of our lives in Paris during the week for the TY school tour. Some of our highlights were the Eiffel Tower, River Seine cruise, Musee les Invalides, Stade de France and, of course, Disneyland. Well done to our TYs whose behaviour was exemplar. Memories for a lifetime were made!👏🏻

Some of our TY students were busy on their first day back after midterm completing the LGFA Go Games Refereeing and Coaching Course ⚽️. The girls will now be able to officiate underage blitzes for their local clubs and in the coming months will be planning a blitz for local primary schools! Great stuff girls 👊.

TY Mini-Company students attended a very enjoyable Innovation workshop in the Charleville Park Hotel yesterday.

Our 1st Years enjoyed a fantastic day yesterday in Ballyhass Adventure Centre with their Transition Year Buddies as part of our ‘Buddy system’.

Our TY's enjoyed an action packed day at Ballyhass Lakes yesterday for team bonding/building activities. They took part in everything from zip lining, jumping the leap of faith, to swimming in the cold waters of the lakes. We are looking forward to our trip next week with our first year buddies.

TY Murder Mystery!!! This week is #EUCodeWeek so our TY students participated in a Computational Thinking channel. They put their problem solving skills to good use and completed a Murder Mystery! A fun afternoon of critical thinking was enjoyed by all.

Yesterday Juliette from Breast Cancer Ireland gave a breast cancer awareness talk to our TY students. There were separate talks for males and females covering all of the information relevant to them.
