Another fantastic day had by our TY students in Ballyhass last Thursday. What a year so far!!

First and transition year students had an outstanding day in Ballyhass Lakes last week. While the sun shun the students spent time with their ‘buddies’ getting to know each other a little better. From the aqua park to zip lining and wall climbing the day was immensely enjoyed by all.

Last week the TY class enjoyed a fantastic day of Leadership, Team development and Goal setting with Mr. David Collins from The Fundamentals.

TY Business students, as part of their mini-company had the opportunity to engage in a workshop with local entrepreneur Matthew Collins from ‘The Sibly Food Company’.

A huge welcome to all our 1st Year students who started with us last week. On the first day they met with their class teachers who showed them all around the school and they also took part in their iPad induction.

TY students had a chance to get a history tour of their local town visiting the Churches, Monuments, Castles and Abbeys. Thanks to local historian Mr Frank Trimm for such an informative activity.

Transition year Geography students enjoyed a trip to the Burren in County Clare, where they explored the Aillwee caves, visited the Limestone pavement and watched a birds of prey show.

Well done to all our Transition Year students who received their certificates at the TY awards last week. It was a great way to finish an amazing year. 👏👏👏

The TY held a sleepover fundraiser in Mid April and raised over 1400 euro. The students donated all of the proceeds to the local branch of St Vincent de Paul last week.

The TY students welcomed Garda John Fitzgerald and Philip Hayes to the Colaiste recently along with Ms Caroline Casey from the RSA.

Our TYs had an incredible two days in Kenmare for their end of year trip! What an amazing year!!

Last week our TY’s had David Collins from Fundamentals. The had a fantastic day of both Leadership, Team development and Goal setting activities. All the activities and games help to integrate the group and get to know one another.

Comhghairdeas mór to TY students Amy Mulcahy, Chloe Carroll, Niamh Browne, Iliya O Flaherty and Izabela Wrocławska who were selected as one of 5 finalists nationwide in the Irish language journalism competition ‘Iriseoirí an lae Amárach’.

8 of our TY students embarked on their Camino journey last week with Cliona’s Foundation. They raised over €8000 for the charity. It was a physical and emotional challenge for the students walking 120km from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela in very rainy conditions over 5 days.

TY students organised a 1st year soccer blitz Wednesday. Class 1D won the final after penalties. Pictured is captain Freya O Connell being presented with the trophy by Darragh Crowley.

Cork musician Sean Murphy came for two days and worked with the TY students in composing, performing and recording a Rap.

The very best of luck to our TY business students representing Cork in the National semi final of Foroige’s Enterprise competition.

Before Easter, as part of the Creative School Initiative, the TY & 5th year Art students took part in a workshop run by Wire Sculpture Artist Glenn Gibson.

TY students participated in an AI and Video Analysis workshop Tuesday as part of the Computer Science course. This involved students setting up cameras, playing a game of tag rugby where they then used AI and Software programmes to analyse the game.
